Sarasota businesses can utilize a new virtual networking community to grow business, stimulate local buying and connect with businesses from around the world.
The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce (GSCC) and its Sarasota Tomorrow initiative in partnership with The Venice Area Chamber of Commerce (VACC) has launched a localized, co-branded Fast Pitch! virtual community to connect area businesses with more than 200,000 members worldwide, all free of charge.
“This innovative project is the first phase of the newly established Regional Business Resource Center of Florida Gulf Coast (RBRC),” said GSCC president Steve Queior. “This can put Sarasota County on the map as the first area of its size to leverage an existing online networking community to encourage local buying, which The Chamber is a major proponent of.”
Funded by a generous Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice grant, the program launched January 30 gives Sarasota businesses the opportunity to boost exposure by connecting to a local, national and international network of businesses.
“The RBRC’s first program gives Sarasota and Charlotte County businesses within 10 miles of our southern border free access to unparalleled features to support business,” said VACC president John Ryan. “Members of our online community can send and receive connection requests, participate in live chats, create and join networking groups, and much more.”
Members will also have access to additional features: online press distribution, blog promotion, email marketing, search engine optimization, classified and text ads, virtual trade shows, profile statistics and video posting. More localized enhancements are also under development including local connection recommendations, local events, etc.
The co-branded community, powered by Sarasota-based Fast Pitch!, can be found at www.energizemybiz.com. The current URL serves as a local gateway into the Fast Pitch! platform comprised of existing professionals from around the world.
“Sarasota County has the potential to become the most hyper-connected region in the world,” said Fast Pitch! CEO and co-founder Bill Jula. “The goal in many ways is to make this one of the ‘flattest’ places to do business by allowing everyone to connect and market their businesses online without restriction.”
