VENICE — The Venice Area Chamber of Commerce has been named the 2024 Outstanding Business Partner of the Year by Sarasota County Schools.

The honor was made at the Outstanding Volunteer Awards ceremony held recently with Chamber President & CEO Kathy Lehner attending.

The chamber was recently awarded Venice High School’s Business Partner of the Year, which made the chamber eligible for the county award. The chamber will now be considered for a similar award on the state level.

In a news release, chamber representatives thanked area businesses for making the honor possible.

“We would also like to thank our member businesses for making this possible through their continued support of the Construction Academy, Job Fair, Career Fair, and Real-World Wednesday,” the news release stated. “These programs help our future workforce understand the many opportunities that are right here in the Venice area. Giving of their time and sharing their story of how they arrived where they are today has been life changing for our students.

“This award is truly for our member businesses. Congratulations!”
