As the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrated its 100th year, 2025 is proving to be a milestone-packed, community- driven year.
With a mission to promote business growth and success while fostering a thriving, vibrant, and prosperous greater Venice area, the Chamber has hosted a series of impactful events bringing businesses and the community together.
Kicking off the year, the annual Non-Profit Rally showcased 50 organizations eager to connect with the public, seeking volunteers and partnerships in time, talent and treasure.
One nonprofit enthusiastically called it “the Super Bowl” of nonprofit networking. February welcomed the second Community Scorecard event, where Mayor Nick Pachota, County Commissioner Tom Knight, and Chair of the Chamber Board Dane DeSantis shared the achievements of 2024 and their vision for the year ahead.
March focused on empowerment, beginning with an International Women’s Day celebration featuring Dr. Darcy Lord, inspiring over 140 women at the Venice Yacht Club.
Later that month, the Wise Guys Workshop provided an exclusive space for men to gain insights into health, business and legal matters.
A major new addition to the Chamber’s event lineup arrived in April — the inaugural Health and Wellness Fair. With strong attendance, engaged vendors and an energetic atmosphere, the event proved to be an instant success and a definite keeper for the future.
The Annual Economic Outlook Breakfast with Dr. Jerry Parrish continues to be a highlight, bringing invaluable economic insights to local businesses and residents eager to stay ahead in an evolving marketplace.
Recognizing the importance of pro-business policies, the Chamber partnered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to host a roundtable discussion with Congressman Greg Steube, bringing together local business leaders to explore ways to maintain a strong, growth-oriented economy.
Leadership development remains a priority for the Chamber, as demonstrated by another 2025 Leadership Venice class. This civic leadership program immerses participants in key areas such as history, health and human services, government, economic development, arts and culture, and community awareness.
By understanding how their community operates and the individuals’ driving progress, participants gain a new appreciation — and, more importantly, a passion for leadership and meaningful change.
The Chamber also continues fostering future leaders through Teen Leadership for high school students and the All About Venice program for the broader community that will begin in the fall.
Throughout the year, we continue the Chamber’s strong foundation with monthly coffee connections, business networking events, educational workshops, and celebrations for new businesses.
But perhaps the biggest moment of 2025 so far came with the Chamber’s Member Appreciation Lunch celebration of its centennial year.
In a heartfelt gesture, the Board of Directors personally prepared and served a fantastic meal, creating the perfect opportunity for members to connect, reflect, and build lasting business relationships in a very casual atmosphere.
With a visionary Board of Directors guiding the way, the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce continues to shape a dynamic and prosperous business environment — one event, one connection, and one century at a time.
With seven months left in the year, I’m sure they will be jam packed with other exciting highlights for the Chamber in its 100th year.
